At first glance Springpad appears to be yet another to do list manager, but scratch beneath the surface and it doesn’t take long to reveal that there is much more to the app than that. Spring pad can of course be used to store all manner of notes, but photos can also be added to help serve as visual reminders. When taking notes and photos, your current location is automatically saved in case this information is also useful.
Springpad isn’t just about recording information, thanks to the app’s built in web browser it can also be used to perform searches, such as book prices, movies reviews and much more. To save you having to type lengthy book titles, you can simply scan barcodes to look up reviews and compare prices of a book you find in a store.
Any information you save is automatically added to by Springpad. Look up a movie, for instance, and as well as finding reviews, you will also be provided with show times. Look up a hotel, and in addition to prices, you will be given the opportunity to place a reservation.
It is the sheer versatility of Springpad that makes it so amazingly useful. All of the information you add is automatically synchronised with your online account so it can be easily accessed from another computer or downloaded to another device. Your notes can be shared with others via Twitter and Facebook and there are other useful options such as the ability to send text or email reminders, and record audio notes.
Note that this is the extension for Google Chrome.
