Trend Micro's Titanium Maximum Security 2012 is a powerful security suite which delivers everything you need to keep yourself safe, both on and offline.
The core antivirus engine has been enhanced to keep you safe against viruses, spyware, Trojans, worms and more. The new Fake Antivirus Cleaner is aimed at removing malware which poses as legitimate security software. And an improved behavioural monitoring module looks out for processes acting in a suspicious way, allowing the package to detect and block even brand new, previously undiscovered threats.
Titanium Maximum Security 2012 then helps you to surf more safely by blocking malicious links in web pages, emails, instant messages and more. While a new Social Network Security module sees the program monitor your Facebook, Twitter and Myspace streams, visually showing you which links are safe to click.
The program also includes a host of other tools, everything you'd expect in a security suite. And so a spam filter helps to keep your inbox free from junk; the improved Windows Firewall Booster protects you from network attacks; identity theft protection prevents confidential data from leaving your PC; and Parental Controls limit your child's access to the internet, while protecting them from inappropriate content.
But there are also options and extras which you won't necessarily find in most of the competition. Like the improved System Tuner, which optimises your system to boost its performance; encryption and secure file deletion tools; wireless authentication to warn you about risky wireless hotspots; and a whole 10GB of online storage space courtesy of Trend Micro's file sync and backup service, SafeSync.
And perhaps best of all, a Titanium Maximum Security subscription also gives you access to tools which will secure smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. Android, Symbian, iOS and Windows-based gadgets are supported, and your subscription will allow you to protect up to 3 mobile devices, as well as 3 PCs.
Please note, if you don't need quite so much power then it might be worth considering Titanium Internet Security 2012. This is notably cheaper, and has the same core features, but leaves out many of the extras: there's no file encryption, wireless authentication or specific social networking security, for instance; you don't get the mobile security packages, and your SafeSync account only comes with 2GB of online storage space.
