MAGIX Photo Manager MX (v11) Deluxe
Enhance, organise, view and archive your digital photo collection with this one-stop graphics tool

MAGIX Photo Manager MX Deluxe aims to be a complete photo workflow package providing everything you need to view, enhance, organise, present and archive your favourite digital photos.

The program can import photos from a camera or scanner, for instance, or you're able to explore them view an intuitive and configurable thumbnail browser.

If, while browsing, you spot a photo which doesn't live up to your high standards of quality then that's easily fixed. Photo Manager MX Deluxe can fix brightness and colour issues with a click, and other tools will quickly help you to fix red eye, sharpen pictures, straighten the horizon, and tweak white balance, saturation and temperature, amongst other things.

And if you need more then you can always open the image in the bundled MAGIX Photo Designer 7, where you might crop and resize the photo, create panoramas, isolate people or objects in an image, or apply a reasonable selection of special effects.

Photo Manager MX Deluxe also has plenty of tools to help organise your photos. You can arrange them into albums or assign them to categories, for instance ("People", "Holiday and Travel", whatever you like). The Calendar automatically groups photos according to when they were taken. And a powerful search tool enables you to locate photos according to keywords, Exif data, file size, date - it can even look for duplicates and similar photos, or use face recognition to tag all your photos containing a particular person. (In theory, anyway - the latter feature wasn't too reliable when we tried it.)

But there's plenty more. The program can build slideshows of your favourite photos, archive your photos to CD or DVD, and carry out batch renaming of an entire folder of images, for instance.

And new with this version is a clever tool which can automatically merge up to 8 images to produce impressive panorama montages.

It's able to save your favourite images as a stylish slideshow, complete with your choice of effects and fades, before posting it directly to Facebook, YouTube or Flickr. Their travel route animation tool builds an animated map which shows your trip, and the new MAGIX Online album enables you to share your photos directly from your iPhone, smartphone or other mobile Android device.

And when you consider that the program also has some basic video editing and audio optimisation features, it's clear that this is one powerful package. If you're in the market for a photo manager with a host of extras, then it's probably worth downloading the trial version to see how it'll work for you.

While it doesn't always have the power to compete with the top photo workflow packages (we'd rather use Adobe's Lightroom editor, for instance), MAGIX Photo Manager MX Deluxe is far cheaper, yet still absolutely packed with useful features and functionality - perfect for getting your messy image collection organised.

Ashampoo Burning Studio 2013 (v11.0.6)

Free Full Commercial Software

Ashampoo Burning Studio 2013 is a compact, simple, but surprisingly feature-packed disc burning suite.

The program makes it easy to create simple data discs and audio CDs, for instance: just drag and drop your files onto the list area and you'll be burning the finished disc in a couple of clicks.

That's just the start, though. Burning Studio 2013 can also create data discs with customised, interactive multi-page menus, perfect if you'd like a more professional way to share and present the disc contents.

A built-in backup tool allows you to create backups which may be encrypted, compressed, and span several CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays.

And there are modules to create VCD or SVCD video projects; burn video DVDs or Blu-ray discs from prepared folders; create, browse or burn disc images (ISO, CUE/ BIN and Ashdisc formats are supported); copy discs, erase them, design and print disc covers, labels and booklets, and more.

The focus throughout is on ease of use, though, and so Ashampoo Burning Studio 2013 remains very straightforward, whatever you're doing. Most disc projects are created via the same simple interface, and for the most part all you have to do is drag and drop the necessary files. But experts will find more advanced options are only a click away, and if you need to then you can set ISO and UDF version, enable Joliet, make a disc bootable and more.

Note the download here will take you to the Downloadcrew Software Store where you can download Burning Studio 2013.
