ExtractNow
Unpack multiple archive files with ease

ExtractNow is a simple tool, that does exactly what its name suggests: extract the contents of archive files. It can't create them so won't replace your existing archive program, this is all about extraction.

So why bother with the program, then? Its wide file format support is one reason. With ExtractNow installed you'll be able to extract the contents of all these archive types: zip (+jar, xpi), bzip2 (+bz2,tbz2,tbz), rar, arj, z, lzh (+lha), 7z, cab, nsis, lzma, lzma86, xz (+txz), ppmd, udf, xar, mub, hfs, dmg, compound (+msi, doc, xls, ppt), wim (+swm), iso, chm (+chm, chi, chq, chw, hxs, hxi, hxr, hxq, hxw, lit), split (+001), rpm, deb, cpio, tar, gzip (+gz,gzip, tgz, tpz), mslz, flv, swf, ntfs (+ntfs, img), fat (+fat, img), mbr, vhd, pe, elf, apm, macho, ace and sit.

ExtractNow is also highly configurable. You can define a folder where all archives should be extracted, for instance. Then tell the program to work automatically, so files are extracted at a drag and drop. And finally, you might set up what happens post-extraction, perhaps deleting the archive files and opening Explorer at the folder where you've extract their contents.

And best of all, ExtractNow is fast. Drag and drop in as many archives as you like, click Extract and the program will immediately extract their contents for you.

Build 4.8.1.0 brings these changes/fixes:

- Added support for RAR5 archives
- Added icon to group context menu item
- Added polish translation from tomasz gasior
- Fixed bug in progress on certain archives
- Fixed filename bug with xz archives

Verdict:

A time-saving tool for anyone who regularly works with archive files

Spektrel Art 1.0.0

Free Full Commercial Software

Spektrel Art is a stand-alone program and Photoshop plugin which transforms digital photos into "magical art that glimmers and gleams with intersecting lines of tapered light".

What does that mean? Essentially it applies a configurable mix of effects, enhancing edges, smoothing backgrounds and emphasizing colours. Take a look at the thumbnail for one example, and the official product page has more.

Spektral Art works much like any similar tool. Open an image, click one of the thumbnails to apply a particular preset, or click a few buttons and drag some sliders to fine-tune the results.

There's surprising scope for variation, too. For example, just switching from the "Light" to "Dark" theme can transform a bright and friendly image into something dark and sinister, at least in some cases (results vary depending on the source image).

Please note, the demo version doesn't allow images to be saved.

SPECIAL OFFER: as we write, the developer is offering Spektral Art for free. The offer expires August 29th. Please note that you must provide your name, address and phone number to receive your free license.
