Stellar Phoenix Video Repair is a powerful tool for repairing corrupt, damaged or generally broken video files.
The Windows build supports WMV, ASF, MOV, MP4, M4V, 3G2, 3GP and F4V files, while the Mac version supports MP4, MOV, M4V, M4A and F4V.
There's no complexity here, no technical settings to consider. Just choose a file, click Repair and wait.
Please note, the demo version has major restrictions. It only works with files less than 10MB in size, you can't save repaired movies, and although there's a Preview function, it only displays up to one minute of footage. Purchase a licence and of course all these limits are removed.
Verdict:
Stellar Phoenix Video Repair didn't seem to work with our test videos, although it was hard to tell for sure (it ran to completion but when we clicked "Preview" nothing happened). Still, the program supports a good range of video formats, and doesn't need a working reference video to make the repair, so if you're desperate to fix a file then perhaps it can help.
