TwInbox is a full-featured Twitter client that also happens to be an Outlook add-on, which means you can send, receive and monitor tweets without having to open another application.
You're able to update your Twitter status directly from Outlook, for instance. TwInbox will receive your friends updates, too, and your tweets can be managed in just the same way as you manage your emails.

Of course if you go overboard on this then it can lead to messaging overload. But the program does its best to help you keep track, for example marking tweets sent to you (@replies and direct) as High Importance, making them much easier to spot.
And there's plenty of advanced tweeting features. You can use the regular Outlook "Reply" and "Reply to All" to send direct messages and @replies, for instance. Your tweets can include picture files and Outlook email attachments. URLs will be shorted with bit.ly, and TwInbox includes all kinds of filing and searching options to help you keep track of each conversation, including automatically sorting new tweets into per-sender folders.
- Removed 140-character limit for direct messages. To send a direct message, start it with “d USER_NAME” (where USER_NAME is the screen name of the user to whom you send the message).
