Bulk Image Downloader
Automatically download entire web galleries

Bulk Image Downloader is a powerful program for batch downloading images. And that means no more tedious right-click, Save As, over and over and over again - just point the program at the URL of interest and it will locate and grab your photos in just a few clicks.

Bulk Image Downloader works almost everywhere. It understands all the main image hosting sites (flickr, imagevenue, imageshack and so on), and can download entire albums from social networks (Facebook, MySpace, tweetphoto.com, twitpic.com, more). Use it on web forums and it will automatically scan multi-page forum threads, extracting all the image links.

The program is smart, too. You won't end up with a folder full of thumbnails, at least some of the time - Bulk Image Downloader will usually detect and download full-sized photos only.

Despite the name, the program works with videos, too, and is able to grab clips from YouTube, Google Video, Daily Motion, MetaCafe and more.

Multi-threaded downloading means you can fetch up to 50 images at once. If you lose your internet connection, accidentally hit the power button or otherwise interrupt the program, then Bulk Image Downloader can resume its downloads when you restart. And if any of this doesn't work quite as you expect then a huge array of configuration options allow you to tweak the program to suit your needs.

5.0.0.0 changes (Version History):

- facebook support updated (thank you for your patience). Due to recent facebook changes BID now has to use a much slower method to locate the large images.
- imgsrc.ru support updated (first image in a gallery was not being detected due to recent changes - fixed)
- vk.com support updated. BID now works with vk image posts (not just vk albums)
- bangtidy.net support updated
- primeassteens.com support updated
- scarlett-johansson.net support updated
- internal web browser memory handling greatly improved - BID should handle very large jobs much better now

Verdict:

Bulk Image Downloader is easy to use, and will make short work of downloading most web galleries, wherever they happen to be

Appalling Tech Support and Non-existent Refund

Posted by: Ian Green, 15 August 2016 11:15

"Following a recent upgrade, I found the programme did not function correctly and sent emails asking for help.
After about two weeks, and using the two email addresses I had for them, I eventually got an email acknowledging receipt of email, but offering no Tech Support.
I complained and asked for a refund on my recently renewed upgrade but was told that, as I do not have a PayPal account, they are unable to refund my money -- Simple Bank Transfers seem to be beyond their capability.
This is not the first time their Technical Support has been completely lacking.
One month on, still no "fix" and still no refund.
My advice is to avoid this company and product."

Spektrel Art 1.0.0

Free Full Commercial Software

Spektrel Art is a stand-alone program and Photoshop plugin which transforms digital photos into "magical art that glimmers and gleams with intersecting lines of tapered light".

What does that mean? Essentially it applies a configurable mix of effects, enhancing edges, smoothing backgrounds and emphasizing colours. Take a look at the thumbnail for one example, and the official product page has more.

Spektral Art works much like any similar tool. Open an image, click one of the thumbnails to apply a particular preset, or click a few buttons and drag some sliders to fine-tune the results.

There's surprising scope for variation, too. For example, just switching from the "Light" to "Dark" theme can transform a bright and friendly image into something dark and sinister, at least in some cases (results vary depending on the source image).

Please note, the demo version doesn't allow images to be saved.

SPECIAL OFFER: as we write, the developer is offering Spektral Art for free. The offer expires August 29th. Please note that you must provide your name, address and phone number to receive your free license.
