Toolwiz FlipBook is an interesting tool which will quickly turn any text file into a 3D ebook.
In its most basic form, the program is very simple to use. At a minimum, all you have to is point it at your TXT file, click "Read Now", and in a few seconds Toolwiz FlipBook will convert your "file.txt" into a "file.exe" executable.
Launch this EXE file on any Windows PC and you'll see the original text displayed in a 3D book. You can then navigate through the book using the keyboard or mouse (just double-click to watch the page flip over). And when you've finished, just press Esc and the book will close.
If this doesn't quite work for you, then the book can be customised in various ways. You're able to set the book's title and author, for instance, as well as setting its height and width. There's an option to set the book's font. And it's possible to embed an "advertisement", perhaps a link to your website.
This all works well enough, too, but there are problems, mainly caused by the total absence of any documentation.
The Builder has an option to "Find the chapter automatically", for instance, but what does that do? We've no idea.
Hold the left mouse button down on the book's page and you can scribble on it, but does this serve any useful purpose? We've not sure.
And the books themselves have a menu option called "Comment Mode", which also sounds worth knowing about. Sadly, you won't find any details on it here.
Still, even now Toolwiz FlipBook does provide an easy way to turn text files into ebooks, so if that sounds appealing then it's definitely worth a look. Hopefully some documentation will arrive in a future update to help us get even more from the program.
