Cyotek WebCopy 1.0.9.0
Copy websites to your hard drive for offline viewing

Cyotek WebCopy is a clever tool which copies all or part of a website to your hard drive for offline browsing.

Grabbing a small and simple site is easy: just enter a URL in the "Website" box, and choose the Copy option. Cyotek WebCopy downloads that page, and any links (within the same domain), then repeats the process until it's done. And then you're able to view the local copy of any page, and browse it as though you were online.

If your needs are more complex then WebCopy provides various options to help. You can tell the program to exclude particular sections of the site, for example. You're able to predefine user names and passwords, allowing WebCopy to access protected content. The program can set a custom user agent string, include or exclude particular MIME types from the copy process, and more.

Managing these more advanced tasks, and viewing the downloaded site afterwards, isn't as straightforward as it should be. The interface doesn't really guide you through the process; you have to browse the options yourself, and figure out what to do. PC or offline browsing novices will probably struggle to cope, at least with more advanced sites.

If you know what you're doing, though, there are a lot of unusual extras here. Cyotek WebCopy supports the use of regular expressions in many areas, for example. There's a built-in editor to help you create and test them. And once a site has been downloaded, WebCopy even generates a visual site map which you can customise and save as an image.

v1.0.9.0 changes:
•Added an "Additional Hosts" page which lets you specify additional domains to crawl
•You can now configure separate proxy server settings for each project

Verdict:

Cyotek WebCopy has a cluttered interface which can be confusing, especially if you're new to offline browsing. It does have some powerful options, though, and is completely free (no adware or other annoyances), so if you're interested in creating local copies of websites then it's worth trying.

Spotlight: Free Full Software

Unreal Engine 4.8

Free Full Commercial Software

Unreal Engine is Epic Games' game engine, a powerful suite of tools for developing anything from basic 2D games to professional RPGs, first person shooters and whatever else you like.

Wide standards support - DirectX, OpenGL, JavaScript/ WebGL - means your projects can be targeted to almost any platform: consoles, iOS, Android, Windows, OS X, Linux, HTML5 browsers and more.

There's a vast amount to learn, of course, and that's even before you start building your game. But there's plenty of documentation, tutorials, demos and sample projects to point you in the right direction.

The package is now entirely free, too - no annoying limitations, nag screens or anything else. Epic now only requires that you pay a 5% royalty after the first $3,000 of revenue per product per quarter. And even then, you "pay no royalty for film projects, contracting and consulting projects such as architecture, simulation and visualization."

8.48 brings:
    - Optimized grass rendering and procedural foliage system preview
    - Plugins available in Marketplace
    - Improved accuracy for motion blur
    - New Tone Mapper
    - Support for all the latest VR hardware including Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR, Steam VR and HTC Vive, Leap Motion, and Sony's Project Morpheus for PlayStation 4
    - "Scrubbable" network replays with rewind support and live time scrubbing
    - Visualize the memory footprint of game assets in an interactive tree map UI
