O&O Software GmbH has released brand new versions of its data recovery software. O&O DiskRecovery Professional 9.0 and O&O DiskRecovery Professional 9.0 64-bit is its tool for recovering all kinds of data from various drives, while O&O Media Recovery 9.0 and O&O Media Recovery 9.0 64-bit concentrate on recovering lost media files from external devices, such as digital cameras and memory cards.
Version 9.0 recognises more file formats, offers improved picture and video file recovery and makes searching compressed files better. It also comes with the promise of Windows 8.1 optimisations.
O&O DiskRecovery Professional 9 opens with support for recovering a wider number of file formats, taking the total number of supported formats to over 350. The chief highlight in version 9 is support for documents created using Microsoft Office 2013.
Enhancements include recovering picture and video files from digital cameras as well as when searching compressed files (specifically zip and 7-zip formats). There’s also the promise of faster overall performance, and a new user interface, although this is modelled closely on previous versions.
Also released is O&O MediaRecovery 9, the cut-down version of DiskRecovery for specifically recovering lost and accidentally deleted media files. Like DiskRecovery 9, MediaRecovery has been optimised for Windows 8.1 while retaining backwards compatibility back to XP. It also comes with an improved search process that promises better recovery even on drives where the file system has been deleted or destroyed.
O&O DiskRecovery Professional 9.0 32-bit, O&O DiskRecovery Professional 9.0 64-bit, O&O Media Recovery 9.0 32-bit and O&O Media Recovery 9.0 64-bit are all available now as function-limited trial downloads for PCs running Windows XP or later.
