The ability to store all of your email, addresses, lists and notes in one place makes the program a one stop shop for your organisational needs.
Thing is, you can’t always lug your computer around with you, so – perhaps mindful of this – Astonsoft has developed mobile apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. The iOS version lets you access – and update – your contacts, calendar, to-do list and passwords, with the first two items being synchronized with the native apps on your iPhone or iPad.
With the release of EssentialPIM Pro 5.5, full support for Apple iCloud was introduced, so now keeping your personal information synced between PC and mobile is a choice of using your iCloud account for a seamless, wire-free experience wherever you are, or sticking to the existing method of syncing your data over your home or work wi-fi connection whenever EssentialPIM is running on your PC. Sadly, cloud-sync support isn’t available to free users.
Sadly, EssentialPIM for iOS is overshadowed by its superior Android counterpart. Although it’ll work on the iPad, for example, it’s formatted for iPhone screens. There’s also a lack of support for certain data types, such as notes. However, if you’re a happy EssentialPIM user and don’t really want to have to shift to a new platform, the app does just about enough to keep your life in sync.
