The sleep and hibernation modes available in Windows mean that it is possible to not only save electricity, and battery, but to also quickly resume working from where you left off. Using PcAutoWaker on your Android, you can automatically wake up your computer when you walk through the front door with your Android phone.
The app works by taking advantage of the Wake On LAN feature supported by many motherboards. When your computer is placed into sleep mode, the network adaptor can still listen for network traffic. PcAutoWaker can automatically send a message to your computer when it connects to your home network so it wakes up and is ready for use as soon as you need it.
Up to five computers can be configured to be activated by the app, and all you need to do is to provide the MAC address of the device or computer you would like to wake. As well as automatically waking up your chosen computer as soon as your phone is connected to your network, manual waking is also available.
This is a useful tool if you would like to be able to hide your computer out of sight, and it means that you do not need to have physical access to the power button to be able to switch it on, but it is a great timesaver for anyone who wants their computer to be available for use as soon as they are nearby.
Verdict:
Simple and effective, PcAutoWaker is a great free time saving utility for Android owners.
