SiteLauncher for Firefox
SiteLauncher provides one-click access to a wide range of common sites and you can add your own.

These days, your web browser is pretty much the main gateway to being productive on your PC, which means if there’s any way you can get it to work faster – such as accessing your favourite sites more quickly – then it’s well worth investigating.

The bookmarks toolbar in Chrome or Firefox is one way to keep your most-used sites at your fingertips as they’re available with a single click. SiteLauncher, however, goes one step further and gives you access to lightning fast keyboard shortcuts.

This browser add-on provides a pop-up window that can be used just like the bookmarks bar. When you click one of the sites within you get direct access. It’s already populated with the most useful sites like Google Mail, BBC News, YouTube and Wikipedia but you can also add your own favourites.

Press [Ctrl] + [Spacebar] to open SiteLauncher or use [Ctrl] + [Alt] if you’re using a Mac. Then, to add the currently loaded page as a shortcut either press [Tab] and choose Shortcut current page (Firefox), or click the plus sign in the pop-up window that appears in Chrome.

This would be cool enough in itself, but you can also assign keyboard shortcuts to sites for even faster access. Just press [Ctrl] + [Spacebar] to open the launcher followed by the key shown next to the favicon of the site you want.

Many shortcuts are already assigned: [g] gets you to Google and [f] to Facebook, for example, but you can change the default keys or set up ones for new sites. Choose More Options > Manage Shortcuts and select the one you want to change. Choose Edit and then enter the shortcut key you want to use and click Revise. Nice and simple.

Verdict:

SiteLauncher provides a number of ways to quickly access the most useful web pages and it includes a lot of scope for customisation, too.

Windows 10 October 2018 Update (build 1809)

Free Full Commercial Software

This is the latest version of Windows October 2018 Update. it's a media creation tool that can be used to upgrade an existing installation of Windows or create installation media for another PC. Just make your choice after launching the tool and it'll do the rest.

What was new in Windows 10, when it was released? The OS brought back the Start Menu, though with a Windows 8 twist: live tiles keep you up-to-date with the latest news while also providing an easy way to launch apps. (Don't worry if you prefer the Start Screen, it's still there and you can boot into it if you prefer.)

Apps now work much more like regular desktop programs. They have minimise, maximise, restore and close buttons, and can be resized (to a degree) and organised however you like.

If you've still lost track of a program in the mass of open windows, a new Task Spaces feature can help. Click its taskbar button and you'll see thumbnails for everything running now, a little like OS X's Mission Control - just click something to switch to it.

Better still, Task Spaces also supports virtual desktops. Add extra desktops as required and it'll display thumbnails of each one, making it easy to identify whatever you're after and switch to it.

There's also smarter snapping, new customisation options, and even a bunch of experimental additions to the command prompt.

Fall Creators Update brings a whole host of new features for Windows 10. See the Microsoft Blog for more information.

The Windows 10 ISO here will give you build 1809 which is the October 2018 Update.
