LogMeIn Ignition for iPhone and iPad has long been one of the most impressive remote access tools for iOS, but things just improved even further in the latest version of the app. LogMeIn Ignition 2 adds a number of important features including the ability to gain remote access to more than one Mac or PC and to view their files, but perhaps more importantly there are now a number of interesting new options relating to file transfers.

The app has always made it possible to view remote files on iOS device, but this latest version allows remote files to be moved or copied to an iPhone or iPad. This helps to avoid the need for work-around solutions such as sending files as email attachments, and the ability to create folders locally means that it is easy to keep files neatly organised.

The ability to transfer files to local storage means that documents can be opened up in iOS app such as Pages or QuickOffice for easy editing. There is also the option of printing files directly from an iPhone or iPad when using compatible apps.

LogMeIn Ignition also makes it possible to transfer files between remote computers, and newly added support for Wake On LAN means that computers that have been placed into sleep mode can be remotely powered up ready for use. As well as the updated File Manager, this latest version of the app also benefits from performance enhancements that keep things running smoothly.
