Avira PC Cleaner is a simple tool which can scan your PC, detecting and removing any malware.

The program doesn't require installation and you should be able to run it on just about any PC without conflicting with existing security software.

The initial release was only available in the German language - even the licence - which was something of a problem elsewhere. Fortunately there's now also an English language version.

You don't have to spend much time reading, though, as Avira PC Cleaner runs almost entirely automatically. There are no menus, no complex settings or dialog boxes: just click Scan and wait.

If no threats are uncovered then the program lets you know, displaying a reassuring green tick.

And if there are problems, you're able to remove them all with a click. You won't even see information on what's been detected unless you click the "Details" button; this really is an antivirus tool which even total novices can use.
