JFRemover is a simple tool which aims to free up valuable hard drive space by finding and deleting various leftovers and temporary files.
To just see what it can find, check the "Analyze" box and click Clean. Within a few moments you'll be presented with a report listing the various areas JFRemover has checked - memory dumps, Recycle bin, cookies and more - and the amount of space any files are taking up.
And if you're happy to remove all of these, clear the "Analyze" box, click Clean again and they'll be deleted.
At first glance the program seems surprisingly effective. We ran CCleaner on a test PC and it claimed we had 1.44GB of surplus files; JFRemover managed to uncover 1.79GB.
You have to be careful in taking these totals at face value, so to check we allowed CCleaner to clean our test PC, then ran JFRemover again, and it did still find 177MB of files to wipe.
And this is just the start. Click "Options" and you'll find plenty of other areas the program can clean. You need to be careful as some of these really ought to be kept (error reports, prefetch folder, system restore data), but if you know what you're doing then there's a lot of power here, which could help to free up a considerable amount of hard drive space.
Version 1.0.1: Added warnings to options that can be deleted but should normally be kept
Verdict:
JFRemover provides a simple way to find and delete surplus files. It can also delete more important files, though, so be extremely careful if you explore the program's options.
