CloudMe is an online storage, synchronisation and file sharing service which offers you 3GB of space for free.

Setting it up starts by creating your free CloudMe account. There are no surprises here: you'll need to choose a user name, a password, give them your email address and so on.

The core CloudMe functionality is similar to many other services, too. It creates a special folder on your hard drive; anything you copy there (up to a maximum of 150MB for the free account) is automatically sent to your account; and you'll then be able to access it from your other CloudMe-enabled devices (there are clients for Windows, OS X, Linux, Android, iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and more).

If you want to share any of all of your files with others, then there are various options. You can provide an HTTP link which allows them to view and download your files, for instance. You might also give them the right to upload files of their own. And a full-on collaboration mode allows you and others to work together in a common shared folder.

The standard free account gives you 3GB of space for free, but of course this can be expanded if you're willing to pay. 25GB costs around $5 a month, 100GB is about $13, 500GB is $53, and the last two accounts also remove the 150MB-per-file restriction (you can upload whatever file size you like).
