Dropsync keeps your Android device in sync with Dropbox

16 August 2011, Software Publisher

When it comes to synchronising files between computers, there are few better services than Dropbox. This online storage service not only means that it is possible to access your files from any computer with an internet connection, but desktop software means that it is possible to automatically synchronise files between the various computers you use. While there is a Dropbox app available for the Android platform, it is a little disappointing; enter Dropsync to save the day!

Rather than requiring you to visit the Dropbox web site and edit files online or download them manually, Dropsync is a two-way synchronisation tool for Android. If you edit a file on your mobile, the changes will be uploaded and reflected in your Dropbox account. Similarly, if you edit a files on your computer, it will first be synchronised to the Dropbox web site and then with your device.

You can choose how frequently synchronisation occurs, or opt to stay in manual control. You can also indicate that you would only like to synchronise when you have a wireless connection to avoid eating into your data plan, and you can avoid killing your battery by opting to only synchronise when your device has a decent charge.

The free version of the app gives you a very good idea of just what can be achieved, but it will only allow you to synchronise a single folder. You can find out more and download a free copy of the app by paying a visit to the Dropsync review page. If you decide you would like to use some of the extra features and lose the advertisements, check out Dropsync Pro.
