Adobe has rolled out major new versions of its consumer-level image and video editing products with the release of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2026 and Adobe Premiere Elements 2026 for Windows and Mac.

Eye-catching new features see Photoshop Elements gain support for more AI-powered tools, including Generative AI and Restore Photo. Meanwhile, Premiere Elements 2026 adds 360-degree and VR editing tools.

Photoshop Elements 2026’s headline AI-powered features have come directly from big brother Adobe Photoshop. Generative AI can be used to generate pictures of all types – including cartoons, illustrations and photo-realistic images – from scratch or you can use the Insert Object tool to augment existing photos with new elements.

The Restore Photo tool aims to transform old photos with a single click, eliminating wear and tear alongside removing scratches and dust as well as restoring colours and contrast. Meanwhile, the Remove tool has been updated to eliminate people from the background of your photos.

Other new features include access to free Adobe Express templates, visual tooltips, enhanced editing tools (including modern crop handles), support for importing mobile photos via QR scans and improved organising tools.

Adobe Premiere Elements 2026 introduces new VR and 360-degee editing tools, allowing you to import your footage, pick a position and then apply transitions, text, graphics and fine-tune viewing angles.

Users also gain access to Adobe’s free Stock Media collection and new text tools for overlaying on top of footage – including motion title templates and a visual browser for accessing favourite setups quickly. There’s also support for freehand cropping, quick cloud import, faster shake stabilisation and visual tooltips.

The new release is also accompanied by a brand new mobile app – Adobe Premiere – for iPhone. A free version offers video editing essentials and integration with the desktop app, while paid upgrades are required for generative AI credits and storage.

Both Adobe Photoshop Elements 2026 and Adobe Premiere Elements 2026 are available as fully featured 7-day trial downloads for PCs running Windows 11 23H2 or later as well as Macs running macOS 14.4 or later.

You can purchase two-computer, three-year term licenses of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024 or Adobe Premiere Elements 2024 for just $99.99 each or pick up both apps in a single bundle for just $149.99. Upgrade pricing is also available for $79.99 and $119.99 respectively. When the three-year term expires, the programs’ editing capabilities will be disabled, but the organiser tools will remain working.
