The ever-popular media player VLC has been updated to version 1.1.5. As well as updating the program’s impressive codec directory, there are also a number of minor feature updates and improvements.
Fans of streaming video will be pleased to see the inclusion of listing for more than 1000 web shows from Channels.com as well as support for live .webm streams. Program performance is improved on some systems thanks to the addition of GPU HD decoding.
On the security front, VLC 1.1.5 fixes a Windows SMB flaw which could have been exploited to run third party code within the program. Version 1.1.5 of VLC also include the usual round of fixes and patches for interfaces and decoders, helping to improve the overall stability and performance of the program.
