Free HDD LED is a simple tool that displays an activity LED for each of your hard drives.
The LEDs can be displayed in a tiny window that you can position anywhere you like on your desktop. Or if that's not convenient, a right-click option will minimise them to the system tray.
And you can also customise the LED refresh rate, hide the system tray icon entirely, or access other configuration options from the program's right-click menu.
It's all very straightforward and easy to use, but unfortunately the resource use is a little higher than we'd like, with the program grabbing 16MB of RAM (private working set) on our test PC.
- new option: enable big LED! As requested by some users here is the big LED version :) enable this option to enlarge the window
- removed Scroll-Lock blink feature. Some users have reported strange crash on Windows 8 while loading Free HDD LED (due to win32 library compatibility)
- drive letter font for low disk space drive is set to bold
