Nero 2017 adds HEVC support, 4K templates/ effects, 256-bit encryption

Nero 2017Nero AG has unveiled its 2017 multimedia range, including Nero 2017 Platinum ($129.95), Nero 2017 Classic ($99.95), Nero Burning ROM 2017 ($49.95) and Nero Video 2017 ($49.95).

Top-of-the-range Nero 2017 Platinum gets support for playing, editing and converting HEVC/ H.265 video, and also ramps up its 4K support with 42 4K-optimised video templates and hundreds of 4K effects.

Playback enhancements include SRT subtitle support for movies, while Gracenote support should ensure your songs always have the original cover art.

Nero’s video editor now has a “Multi-Export” feature to easily locate and extract multiple scenes from a long video, all at one time.

Nero Burning ROM uses the latest SecurDisc 4.0 technology to protect data discs with 256-bit encryption.

The interface has been mildly revamped to improve ease of use. And if you’re still lost, no problem: you can call up and use Nero’s problem-solving KnowHow app as a second screen on your mobile device.

Nero’s free streaming, receiver and wifi sync apps have also seen many enhancements. They can now work with many more UPnP/ DLNA media servers, allow searching of Nero MediaHome’s server from your mobile device, can stream media from one mobile device to another, and offer full wireless sync support for iOS as well as Android devices.

Nero 2017 Platinum, Nero 2017 Classic, Nero Burning ROM 2017 and Nero Video 2017 are available in 15-day trial form for Windows 7 and later. Unless you know specifically what you want, get the Platinum edition to try it all.
