Apple has released version 2.0 of its Remote app for iPhone and iPad. As well as being the first version of the app to offer native support for the iPad, the latest release also includes support for Apple TV.
The app can be used to remotely control both Apple TV and iTunes from an iPhone or iPad over a wireless network conection. Support for AirPlay speakers means that it possible to control the volume of music throughout the house, so each room can have music playing at a different volume level.
Remote 2.0 can be used to browse and play your entire music collection, and this is made particularly easy on the iPad’s larger screen. With the ability to create and edit playlists, the app provides an easy way to stay in control of your media from anywhere in the home.
Remote 2.0 is available free of charge from the App Store.
