Transform small computers into retro game consoles

Lakka is an OpenELEC/ RetroArch-based Linux distribution which transforms small computers into retro games consoles.

There's support for emulating the Atari 2600, Lynx, Game Boy/ Colour, NES, SuperNES, Sega 32X/ CD, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation, PSP, Nintendo 64/ DS, PSP and many more.

You can do any of this on a PC by downloading the appropriate image and writing it to a USB key, but Lakka also at least partially supports various small computers: Raspberry Pi/ Pi2 (VideoCore), Allwinner 20 : Cubieboard2, Cubietruck and Banana Pi (Mali-400), i.MX6: WandBoard, Hummingboard and Cubox-i (Vivante), and Amlogic: Odroid-C1 (Mali-450). (Note that not all computers can emulate every console. The developer's Support page tells you more.)

There's direct support for a range of controllers, and Lakka can be configured to get others working, with a little effort. (The developer lists the best three as "XBox 360 wired controller", "XBox 360 wireless controller + its Microsoft adapter", "Wired Dualshock 3 controller".)

Lakka won't somehow give you instant access for every game for each console. It's just another emulation platform, and you'll need to locate ROMs for yourself, just as with any other. But the developer does provide a good set of instructions to help you get started, and if you've used an emulator before then you'll soon be at home.

A versatile console emulator. Not really for the novice, but there's plenty of documentation - and a forum - to help you out if you need it.

WhatsApp Messenger 2.18.102

Free Full Commercial Software

WhatsApp Messenger is the world's most popular instant messaging app for smartphones.

You can use it to send and receive text and voice messages, photos, videos, even call your friends in other countries, and because it uses your phone's internet connection it might not cost you anything at all (depending on whether you'll pay data charges).

It's easy to set up and use. There's no need to create and remember new account names or pins because it works with your phone number, and uses your regular address book to find and connect you with friends who use WhatsApp already.

You can talk one-to-one or in group chats, and because you're always logged in there's no way to miss messages. Even if your phone is turned off, WhatsApp will save your messages and display them as soon as you're back online.

There's plenty more (location sharing, contact exchange, message broadcasting) and the app is free for a year, currently $0.99/ year afterwards.

What's New in Version 2.18.102

• Introducing stickers! You can now download and send expressive stickers in chats. Tap the new "sticker" icon while in a chat to get started. You can also tap the "+" icon to download more sticker packs. If you'd like to create your own stickers for WhatsApp, visit to get started.
• You can now easily search for GIFs right from within a chat. Just tap the "sticker" icon in a chat and then tap the "GIF" icon at the bottom.
• Consecutive Voice Messages will now play in sequence, so you don't have to press play on each message.
